IRS warns of Form W-8BEN scam
The Internal Revenue Service warned of a scam in which criminals use a fake IRS Form W-8BEN to obtain personal information and bank account information from victims. Scammers use fake letters and emails to trick taxpayers to submit personal information, which can lead to stolen identities and/or stolen assets.
